Ever wonder if a book or movie was worth your time and money? Below are my thoughts and mini-mini-reviews on the entertainment I’ve consumed in the prior week. Let me know if you agree/disagree! Note: The movie photos link to Rotten Tomatoes. The book photos link to either Goodreads or Amazon.
My rating: 4 of 5 stars
A bad-boy, a wall-flower, both escaping a painful past, intense sexual and emotional attraction, even a bit of suspense.
Her Knight in Black Leather, by J.M. Stewart, has all the elements of a fun contemporary romance.
I really, really liked this book. The emotions and sexual tension in this book are so strong, I felt like I was reading a personal story. Which is silly, right? I mean who goes all weak in the knees and totally ga-ga over a man when they first meet? Love At First Sight, aka LAFS? Posh! But as I read, I was right there with both characters, feeling each of their butterflies, the breaking down of their walls, even the um, how shall we say it, more intimate physical reactions.
If I were to pick the story apart, I could find a few things that didn’t work. Without giving too much of the plot away, I had some questions about the past relationships that haunted the two main characters. Some plot points didn’t quite make sense. And the ending with the ‘bad guy’ was way too predictable. That said, the love part was so good that it made the rest of it unimportant, a very secondary character to the actual story of the MCs’ love for one another.
Even if you don’t believe in LAFS, you will while reading Her Knight in Black Leather. And it makes the book so worth while.
