Snippet Sunday’s Swashbuckler #23

Thank you for dropping by. 🙂 It’s another Snippet Sunday (weekend) and I’m excited to finally tell you WHO this Todd is and how he fits in with the Swashbuckler crew. This takes place a few paragraphs from where we were last week. Please, please forgive the number of sentences. They’re all very short!

Setup: Rachel, and her agent, Mona, are at a pre-production party for Swashbuckler. It’s just been announced that Rodger Conrad, hunky A-list actor will be playing the lead (and of course he’s there at the party to shake hands and take pics). After the announcement is made, Todd walks away from Rachel and Mona, who had joined Rachel to share the excitement of the news.

“Oh my God, Rachel–do you know who that is?”

Rachel was looking back at Rodger, trying to get another glimpse of him without being too obvious. The group around him was starting to thin out slightly and for a second she saw his face as he gave a woman a friendly hug.

“Rachel, that’s Todd James. He’s Rodger’s closest friend!”

“What?” Rachel turned to her friend at her side. “That can’t be. How do you know?”

“Look.” Mona’s head motioned back toward Rodger. And there was Todd. He and Rodger were in a man hug, pounding their backs as if they hadn’t seen one another in years.

“Rachel, close your mouth before you catch a fly.”

And that’s it for this week! Please be sure to drop by Snippet Sunday on Facebook to read and comment on other writers’ snippets. You can find the group here >

  1. I can really visualize this “He and Rodger were in a man hug, pounding their backs as if they hadn’t seen one another in years.” Good snippet
